This extraordinary adventure will take place in an area practically still virgin and unknown to visitors. One of the principle attractions here are the spectacular San Rafeal falls; a unique natural display in the immense jungle. On this trip it will be possible to camp and observe the exuberant fauna; spectacled bear, tapir and the famous Andean cock of the rock, of the high Amazon region.
Day 01.- Quito - San Rafael Waterfall
From Quito we leave following the Interoceanic route Quito – Papallacta – Baeza – Chaco - Lago Agrio. Our first stop will be at 4000m in Papallacta where we will enjoy some relaxing moments in the thermal baths before continuing our descent to the jungle at 1380m. From here we will trek one hour in the jungle to arrive at a look-out point overlooking the San Rafeal falls where we will set up camp and have dinners. B/L/DDay 02.- Birding in the Cloudforest from el Reventador
After breakfast we will follow the path of the Andean Cock of the Rock and with a little luck will be able to see this incredible bird among others; mountain toucans, oropendulos, tanagers, monjas, cucubes , parrots and many more. And of course we will also familiarize ourselves with the diverse flora and fauna of this vast region. Lunch on route and return to camp in the late afternoon for dinner and the night.Day 03.- San Rafael Waterfall - Quito
Early in the morning we will start bird watching around the camp followed by breakfast and breaking camp to leave for the return route to Quito stopping in places of interest along the way. In Papallacta we will stop for a delicious trout lunch and to once again enjoy the thermal baths if time permits. In the evening we will arrive in Quito. End of tour. B/L/-

Comfortable trekking Boots, warm clothes, water proof clothes, binoculars (Rain Poncho, rubber boots, we provide if you want), sun cream, sun glasses, hat, camera, film (100 ASA), and travel alarm clock, flashlight with batteries, zip-lock bags to keep clothing and equipment dry, tennis shoes, gloves, shorts, cotton clothes, long sleeves shirts, pants (but not jeans) towel and personal toilet kit.
